Tyler, can you start a Dear Abby section? It'll be like "Dear Tyler" instead. We can ask for advice and sign it anonymous or with some really whitty name, so you won't know who it is of course, and then you'll answer.
Like, and i'm just throwing this out there: Dear Tyler, I watch The Office every Thursday at 8pm and even blow off friends in the event they want to hang out between 8 and 8:30. Is this healthy? Thanks for any help Yours truly, Mrs. Jim Halpert" Dear Hooked Halpert, Healthy? No. Unhealthy? No. I see three ways of looking at this small but bothersome problem: (a) Find a way to include your friends in your viewing of this wonderful Emmy winning hour long comedy starring Steve Carrell as a boss struggling to find his place socially both in the world and at work, (b) digitally record (i.e. TiVo) or download (i.e. iTunes) the damn thing and watch it later in the event it conflicts with a fun, safe, healthy, and preferably "outside" activity with your social companions, or (c) doggy ear Thursdays at 8pm as your own weekly personal time, a key ingredient for many in a healthy work week. I wish you the best as you navigate the choppy waters that will be your path out of this minor rut life has thrust you into. Be safe, be kind...adieu. Tyler .............................................. a Thanksgiving blog, perhaps? -Emily- |
