Jack, Joel, Sean, "Lady A," Tim, Faith & Lori


Two "celebs" I saw in LA recently who I think are the coolest ever: Jack White and Joel McHale. Jack White I'm just a huge fan of and, due to United Airlines' computers' being down and a delayed flight giving me an extra night in LA, I got to see a private show of The White Stripes at the old Tower Records on Sunset Blvd. or, as it's now known, Icky Thump Records. I'm being that lame guy who isn't going to take his wrist band off from the show until it's medically necessary so people keep saying, "Oh, so you saw The White Stripes recently?" and I'll be all casual and say "Oh yea, this ol' thing here? It's just my wristband from a private show I attended. No big deal..." Ha! Yes. Uh, they took over an old record store, redecorated and reopened it as a record store that only sells their record! Amazing! I dig their records but had not seen live and thanks to the fact that they are now Warner artists, like myself, I got to see 'em. What a show. Just energy, aggression, talent, wisdom, creativity, and a ton of envelope pushing……. but no big deal other then that. Did I hear a tad of country in the new stuff? Is that Jack White that lives just 10 minutes away from me south of Nashville? Hark! I think it is! I need to casually wander over there to my neighbor, 'ol Jack White, and ask something unassuming like, "Can I borrow some sugar, neighbor?" Course, I'd freeze after that. That'd be as far as my plan would take me.




At the show my friend struck up a conversation with this other guy. We're hanging with him for a bit, chatting and then I'm laughing hysterically hard and I wasn't even ready for it. Funny people can sometimes surprise you like that. He did and I dug it. So we decide to continue the hang elsewhere and that's when my face started hurting from all the hardcore laughter. Are people born that funny or do they hone it? Anyway, it turns out he hosts a show on E! called "The Soup", which I'd never seen (he's never seen "One Tree Hill", though. Loser... Oh, wait, that's me....) but watched later and loved it. If you guys aren't hip to this guy like I wasn't, check out "The Soup" Friday nights on E!, you won't be disappointed. I want to be him. And Jack White. And Jack Black. And Jackie Greene. And Jackie Brown. And president one day....maybe.




Then there's the whole issue of my show here in Nashville last night. I was nervous and shakey because there were so many new songs I wanted to play and, sure, I didn't have to play them all in one night, but I really wanted them recorded and heard "live" on the radio station, so I have copies of them in case they turned out good and I could put together a live EP or something. I haven't heard them yet, we'll see, but, as always, you don't need me to tell you, you were all so gracious. No "How Love Should Be" or "When It Comes" or "Missing You" or "You'll Ask For Me" or any of my other international smashes (...uh....) and still you cheered me on! And….we sold that place out! Yes! Much of that had to do with my friends who opened the show, Sean McConnell and "Lady Antebellum"...do I know how to throw together a bill or what?!




This morning I am blogging to you from the airport here in Nashville where my flight to Chicago is delayed so I'll miss my flight to Toronto and have to take a later one but will nonetheless make it there in time to see Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in concert tonight with Lori Mckenna opening! Lori and I are going to write some more tunes for a few days. I'm going to catch up with my "Charlie Bartlett" friends and see back to back Tim and Faith shows. Yahoo! So tonight and tomorrow night when you think Tim McGraw, I hope you think of me. Talk soon, friends...

I LOVE Joel from the soup! He is hilarious....lucky guy getting to meet him....hmph!

HAHA I LOVE how last night I posted a comment on his myspace saying he needed to post a new blog to amuse me and the next day I log in BAM Tyler Blogness! Makes me giggle! Esp. The way he signed out!

Lmao! i had one of my friends in the car with me.. and a song i liked came on and i said "Dude, i dig this song!" lol do you know how ackward that is for me. My friend was like "oh jesus your goin cali on me, tylers rubbin off on you isnt he?" lol im from the deep south and no one around here says "dig, dug, or dude"

It's amazing how reading that blog totally turned my mood around.

That had to be my favorite part of the blog. His comical and sarcastic wit is definitely one that makes him stand out from the other musicians/artists. Also because it shows that Tyler is a fan of someone else. Just the way we are all fans of Tyler's. He's "normal," and I like reading that in his blogs. :]

Oh Tyler was talking to Joel Mchale. That's the guy who hosts the show on E called The Soup. He's extremely funny. He comes on Friday and it show repeats on the weekends. I really do love reading Tyler's blogs.

Haha, I totally loved the little Taylor plug he put at the end of that blog Hehe, these blogs always find a way of making my day better and they're always so amusing I can't decide which one I like better, Tyler TV episodes or these blogs, I love 'em both
