For anyone who hasn't seen it yet....

Lubbock to Tulsa in a PT Cruiser? Really?

Where did I leave off last with you? I haven't mentioned my short stint down south yet, have I? Well, that's as good a place to start as any and also because between then and when I got home from Canada, save for a few shows, I've just been tying up odds and ends like demanding the LA Times not charge me for a subscription I don't have! (Trying to cram the news down my throat, they are! Well, I've got KFWB 980AM and that suffices for now. Besides, don't you think robbers might get a little suspicious when I've got more newspapers stacked up in front of my door when I go on the road then a damn archive center! Am I becoming a cranky old man? Has most of my blog been inside these parenthesis? Yes, it has. Maybe you've forgotten this is all still a digression from my main point. I am a digresser. My life is a digression. And there you have a digression from my digression. Shut up right now, Tyler, and just keep going. You can still save face...).

Jaco, Lemony, Beth, and our friend Kurt Morgan (filling in for Joe on Bass) traveled to Lubbock, Texas by plane the night before to get all ready for our show at Texas Tech. My dad has been rockin' the airline system and seems to get us great seats every time. Unfortunately, Kurt was left out of the great seats, he was a last minute addition, and ended up middle seat. Ah....Kurt! What an awful thing. However, he is the new guy and deserves a certain dose of crap his first time out with us. What with Joe playing out more with his band, "Population Game," (we've been checking them out at the Mint on Tuesday's here in LA. They're so cool. My dad loves 'em. I think he goes to every show...) Kurt might be hanging with us more. Lubbock was great and the woman are beautiful. Holy great state of Texas!

We couldn't get the rental place to give us one large van to drive to Dallas, so we had to rent two cars. Lem, Jaco and my dad in his mini-van, and Beth and Kurt in my ... ahem...PT Cruiser. Say what you want about the way they look, it was actually fun to drive. Especially with our "Best of Blondie" purchase at a truck stop. Who knew Blondie sang all those hits?! Sold out Dallas like the rock stars we always hoped we'd be one day and wish we still were today, and continued on to Tulsa to spread the love. I think I've cancelled on Tulsa too many times to show my face there without being worried. But everyone was nice and the band had a great time, though I was exhausted from PTing it all day. Thanks for being cool, crowd.

Now? A new record is in my mind finding it's way out. This time around, though, I'm doing most of the work before I even hit record. By the time that button's pushed it should be smooth sailing. Ideas are developing, band is rehearsing, and new characters to help shape the record are coming into the picture constantly. I'd love to hear what songs you guys are hoping go on the record. A big part of the work is figuring which 12 or so to record. Take care everyone! I'll let you know more about how it's going soon.

PS Just as I was about to swoop down and get me one of them there Hybrids for myself, I got this chance to try out the Mercury Mariner and the Ford Escape hybrids for two weeks each. Phew...now I can put off buying one for awhile. Both are killer and drive really well! The Escape seems to rock me comfort wise a bit more, but we'll see. Thanks for your comments and help! You guys gotta try these out... I look at other people in traffic and am like, "Ha! You're jiggling while you're stopped!" I, on the other hand, am so not...

No fords....from my experience (as well as others)....you'll spend more money fixing it than you will buying it.

Too funny - I think I laughed through the whole entire thing - man alive, it's been too long since I last saw a show. I'm starting to miss Tyler.

haha...that made me laugh so hard. My old golf coach has a toyota (i think) hybrid and when we were at a red light we'd all just go.."ahh...it's so quiet" Oh well for now I'm good w/ my trusty '95 Buick!

I've never had a bad experience with a Ford (and those are the only cars we've ever had) My friend has a non-North American car and she is definately going to spend more money on the car than it's worth.

For some reason, his style of writing has changed from his much older entries. Don't get me wrong, they're just as entertaining as the old ones. I guess these are grammatically pleasant, haha. His tone has changed, too.

I don't know. This is the lack of sleep talking.

I agree about Fords. I had a Ford truck and it started to give me problems ONE month after buying it and I bought it new.

Likewise, all my friends and relatives who have had Fords have experienced no end of troubles. The Focus ranks right up there with the Dodge Neon to me - they are cheap cars made very cheaply and are just money guzzlers.

Oh am I missing a word from the title? Oops. He wrote 'ask for me' on the setlist I have. I guess it got stuck that way.

I've heard both, but I wasn't correcting your title. I didn't even notice it on there, I just really like the song and want it on there! Smile
