Marco Polo & Robin Hood.....What?
The pool has opened at my apartment building here in Nashville for the summer and with that comes three new pair of shorts from Target and my old sandals I haven't worn in ages. I had previously refused to wear anything but jeans and boots because I was lazy and didn't want to branch out, but I'm finding that slipping into shorts and sandals is much easier when getting out of bed, albeit not as "cool". Well, maybe "cool" if you like "Laguna Beach" but who watches that show?! Oh, everyone you say? Damn... But the pool opening isn't really as cool as it sounds. Or it wasn't at first. I didn't count on the millions of other people in my area to be counting down the days until it opened also. But they were, turns out, and all the pool was to me over the weekend was a place where my time was spent being splashed and returning balls that kids, who under estimated their growing arms, over threw and landed near my chair. Love 'em at that age! Everyone was really nice, though, and every stray ball and splash lead to a nice conversation where names were exchanged and, poof!, I'm making friends with my neighbors. They're clever though. I thought once the week started everyone would be in school and I'd get to swim laps and read books and write songs and play marco polo alone and no one would bother me, but it's summer time for Nashville area kids! Oh well, I guess I'll have to learn to play with the other children, the cutie pies! And whose idea was it, again, to go to the Tennessee Renaissance Festival a week ago? Oh yea, Wayne, my producer. "I'll be there with my kids", he says. "Come hang and eat junk food and watch them play human chess!" "Human chess?", I say. I'm there. And guess what?! I hit the bull's-eye in archery and they gave me a certificate and told me I was now knighted in the queen's court!!! What did you do last weekend!!! Ha! I'm a knight. Tell your friends. Tell them also I'm good at archery because the lady at the fair said I was. I'm not, though. She was just distracted by my excellent form I mastered one Halloween when I was Robin Hood. I knew there were life skills to be learned playing dress up. That's why I got into acting... Tyler -Isn't Tyler just great! I have been having a bad past few days and this blog was the first thing that has made me smile in awhile...so thank you Tyler. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Ashey, |

I love Renaissance Festivals - although some of the costumes that people wear are a bit overwhelming to say the least...

His blogs never fail in making my day 100x better.
Oh, and don't forget to spread the word - Tyler is now a knight! Maybe that would be a good thing to add at the bottom of the flyers for future shows..."He's a knight, you know." That would surley sell out his concerts from here on out, no doubt! This message has been edited. I really enjoyed reading this. I went to the Renaissance Festival that he is talking back back when I was in the 6th grade a long time, but it's a cool and fun place though.

You just have to go on other peoples pages and click on "add to friends" and then those people approve or deny your friend request... You know having a profile set to private doesn't mean that people can't add you...
