I stopped getting on youtube cause my internet was slow..i need to start getting back on it now.

I use Zamzar.Com

Kinda similar to Vixy. I stopped using Vixy only because whenever I would try and rip the audio from a YouTube video, it would say that the video wasn't corresponding to the website for some reason. It was pretty inconvenient for me because downloading the file from that site was like a gamble, I wasn't sure if it would convert or not. It happened a few times and then I moved onto Zamzar.

The only downfall is once it gets converted (from Video to wmv format, or whatever format you choose) it gets sent to your email and it takes up to 5 min to a few hours to get the file (depending on site traffic.) But for the most part, all the files are sent within an hour. Hmm, I guess it depends on how you look at it.

But if you aren't in any rush or anything, it's actually not that bad and is useful (it's multipurpose conversions of different files/formats). That, and it for sure will convert your file. I haven't bumped into an issue where the video I wanted to rip audio from would not work and I've used it for a wihle now.

The up side is that it's pretty easy to use, I think. It's boom boom boom. Convert file.

I use zamzar too. Except, it doesn't let me take songs from videos so I just have to put the videos on my iPod. Which kinda stinks cause it takes up all my room on my iPod, but whatever, it works.

Really? That's weird. Doesn't it list an option to convert the file into mp3 if it's a video? That's what I do. I get songs from YouTube videos and convert them to mp3s.

Yeah, it is weird because my friends do it the same way that you also do it. When I put the URL code in the place where you paste it, it atomatically takes away the drop down list of things to convert it to. And it puts it under mp4. So I don't know, I guess I'll just have to keep trying! I just wish I knew what I'm doing wrong.

i just thought i'd add my 2 cents to this. it might be helpful.

i use a program called "AoA audio extractor". i found it via google. it's free however you have to save it to your computer to use it. it doesn't take up that much space either, and it's super easy to use.

also...if you have firefox there is an add-on called the "download media helper" that you can use, it allows you to save videos from youtube and about 100 other sites to your computer. it pops up and tells you when media is available for saving. pretty cool and really simple.
