I'm pretty excited! I have never been and it is looking like I might be moving there after college so I am anxious to see what it is like...I have only heard good things!

And one of my professors is giving me some contact info of some alumni from OU that are in Nashville...one is an executive at MCA and another who started his own label (I forget the name) so I can meet up with them too while I am down there! So it is looking like a big trip but I can NOT wait

Yeah, I heard it was a nice place to live too...a close friend of mine lives there, and he loves it...hmmmm...

They don't have a state income tax taken out, but their state sales tax is higher than Michigan's. Also groceries, utilities, etc were way more in the Nashville area than they are here in Michigan. There isn't a lot of competition in Tennessee, so consumers pay more there. The city isn't the cleanest either. Also, crime is a HUGE problem in the Nashville area - a lot of rundown areas - it's a lot nicer out in the Franklin area where most of the celebs live, but than the cost of housing skyrockets over in the Franklin area compared to Nashville. I hated living by Nashville (and I was in Brentwood in between Franklin and Nashville), even though it was always one of my places to visit.

When I was there in April, I remember buying something and the tax on it was 9%!! NYC's is only 8.25! But I think the 9% tax is only on clothing? Not sure...
