I was reading the paper this morning (London Free Press) and there was an article about Megan Park and it briefly mentions Tyler and how he loves coming to London Ontario (now I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for potential Tyler sightings)

Local actor to star in witty comedy

Former Original Kid Megan Park also found love on the set.

London just launched a new star to Hollywood.

Petite and perky, at 21, Megan Park looks more like an early teen high schooler than someone who's been eligible to vote for three years.

Sitting in the living room of her parents' London home, which has a feel of a modern Jane Austen parlour, she's excited to talk about her new teen flick, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Hope Davis.

The comedy is her first major Holly\ wood feature.

In Charlie Bartlett -- in theatres Aug. 3 -- Park plays a girl whose looks are the envy of the entire school. (Downey plays the school principal.)

Weighing next to nothing, with long and wavy, blond hair and flawless complexion, Park looks the part.

But reality was a bit different. Park says she hung out with everyone in school -- she's an Oakridge Secondary graduate -- but missed a lot of classes because of her career.

She got her start at Original Kids Theatre in London.

From there, she went on to musicals in London, then got an agent in Toronto. Then commercials. Then bit parts in television shows. A couple of supporting roles in feature films.

And now this -- a film made by the producers of Austin Powers and Meet the Parents.

But raised by a teacher mom and a dentist dad, who also teaches at the University of Western Ontario, Park is not exactly at home in Hollywood.

"I can see how people can get caught up into all that pretty easily. Sometimes, it seems as though everyone wants to be seen."

Not that she doesn't crash a glitz-and-glam event now and then.

"It's easy to get your fill of all that and I try to surround myself with normal people."

Her role model in Tinseltown? Natalie Portman.

"She's made some really smart career choices and she's so classy and stays out of tabloids unless it's related to her work."

Oh, and Meryl Streep and Susan Sarandon, of course.

Splitting her time between L.A. and London, she managed to find the time to fall in love with a guy who, she says, loves visiting London.

"He's actually coming down next weekend," she says of Tyler Hilton, who she met on the set of the movie.

But if the acting business doesn't continue rolling, she'll ditch the glam life and hit the books.

Just don't expect her to be an acting major.

"I'd probably study film or something behind the camera."

As for how her mom feels about having a celebrity in the family, her reply is low key.

"It's just Megan," said Debbie Park.

In one of the YouTube videos they used to have up, they showed the song list that was posted in another thread - where all the songs are listed that they are trying to decide on for the album and I noticed there was a song on there called "London, Ontario" - so he must like it enough to write a song

aww, she's not even legal yet..Im sure they're good friends.

They're only three years apart in age.

She's 21. That makes her legal. I don't get how it's been interpreted on this board that she isn't?

Her 21st birthday is July 24th according to IMDB. The legal drinking age is 19 in Canada.

Regardless, the legal age of consent is 18 - so she is "legally" allowed to be more than just friends with Tyler - once again, though, that's their business and not ours. I think they are cute together

at the charlie bartlett premiere pictures it looks like they aren't a couple since they weren't holding hands and they took pictures alone and not next to each other at all. just my opinion. but damn if I were her Id rather be on camera and be an actor rather than behind the camera but everyone to their own...
