does anyone know if tyler has a policy on tapeing shows? video tapeing, audio taping? any of that. I know John Mayer says audio is cool video not so cool and Bon Jovi isn't cool with it but lets pictures be taken no matter the venue's policy....so does anyone know if Tyler has a 'policy' per say?

Hmmm...good question I'm not sure!! I know when I went to a Clay Aiken concert here in Charlotte the freaking confiscated(sp?) my camera and didn't give it back!!! It sucked!!

they took my tapes at Hanson at the Uptown theatre in KC ... but I was like emmm wonder what they'd do at a college campus? or if Tyler or Mgmt even minds?

I don't think Tyler has a video policy.. i've taped 2 shows... i think it depends on the venue!

I went to see Clay Aiken too a year or 2 ago, and even though we weren't supposed to take pictures, I did anyway. I hid my camera in my sweatshirt when I was going passed security and they had no idea. As far as Tyler and cameras though, I have no idea. Tyler doesn't seem to be the kind of person to be all "NO CAMERA'S ALLOWED," but who knows. I don't personaly know the guy!

I'm pretty sure he doesn't care. As long as you don't try to sell it or anything. Also, the fansites are always asking for audio and video.

oh i wouldn't sell it - and it's not a digital video camera so i wouldn't be able to to get it to a fan site - so in the long run it's personal privlage ya know....

I was videoing at a show *va beach at the mall* on my digi camera and mgmt was behind me and was kinda like "did you tape that?" or something of the sort and I said "yep" and told him I had also taped the prior week at 9:30 club and he didn't say "please don't" or anything...

that's all I know about video

i haven't heard anything about video. i don't think it's a problem though. i'm sure they would let us know if they didn't want it.

All I know is that during one of my convos with Tyler on the phone, I mentioned having a live recording of a VCMT show and he was cool with it.

The convo is actually up on the ETeam videos. I want to say it's the second ``calling`` video from the top in the AV Room. He took me off speaker, but you can hear him talk about how he said ``if its a live show, go for it`` and he referred back to the old, live jazz recordings and stuff.

Usually it just depends on the venue.

And it also depends on if you're trying to professionally record audio and/or video, as opposed to just...using a digital camera or something. If you're recording audio at a show for trading and such, you usually have all of your fun equipment that you set up by the sound booth. And I'm pretty sure you'd need permission from the venue for that? But if you're just using a digital camera to tape things for the heck of it, it usually isn't a problem.

It's always best to ask beforehand, though. Every situation is different.

It's a college campus, soo I'm guessing there will be film students filming stuff anyways, soo I doubt they'll reprimand you for it...I need to see if I can get the digital working again (I still haven't uploaded my pictures from last month)
