can you write down the chords if you still remember?

I have some amateur picture perfect chords that I tried. lol. I'll try and post them later.

ok until I can figure out a better way to do this...like by finding online sheet music that I can create and send, here's a basic version of "Insomnia"

play the following notes as a chord twice:
b (one note down from middle c)
d sharp (one and a half steps up from middle c)
f sharp (3 and a half steps up from middle c)
b (an octave above the first "b")

then play this chord once:
d sharp (one and half steps above middle c)
b flat (half sep below middle c)

then play these notes individually:
c sharp (1/2 step above middle c)
d sharp (1 1/2 steps above middle c)(play this notes twice)
e (2 steps above middle c)
d sharp (same as before)
b (one note below middle c)
b (same as above--here you can also play the g sharp below b)
d sharp (1.5 steps above middle c)
e (2 steps above middle c)
d sharp (same as above)
b (one below middle c)
f sharp (3.5 steps above middle c)
b (same as above)
d sharp (1.5 steps above middle c)

- to figure out how long to hold each note for, you'll have to listen to the song...since I can't really write beats over the internet

--sorry if that's really confusing...i tried to write it so that people who don't know how to play the piano could figure it out Smile

good luck!

Thanks Claire...I wonder if I can convince my piano mentor (friend) to let me play insomnia at my next recital...lol, although I don't think she'll let me after I begged to not play the can-can...at least I can play it on my own for fun.

Okay.. I came up w/ some of the "Faithful" chords. Just some of the song.. I'm still working on the rest

YOU HAVE TO PUT THE CAPO ON THE SECOND FRET.

I watched his musicplustv performance.. over and over so I could see where he positioned his fingers.

I'm not sure what the exact names of the chords are.. I just named them Fmaj7, and G7.. so if anyone here who knows what they're really called.. or if they're real lol. Let me know please!!!

EDIT: I think the Fmaj7 is C#7... not sure.

Let me know if it actually sounds like it. or if it doesn't. lol thanks! Wink

yea I came up with some too, although they're an octave above where he plays it...it's just easier for people with small hands..

I think I figured out the intro to "faithful". I put it on video if anyone wants to see the chords. I slowed it down at the end. I think my strumming pattern is wrong though.

as I've gotten more into playing guitar, I've found that Tyler's songs certainly aren't impossible, but he does change things up quite a bit....he switches between chords, picking out the melody, he does a lot of fingerpicking, (more so than other artists)...so he's pretty advanced....probablly the easiest of his songs to play would be either "Nora Marie" (rythym) or "Picture Perfect" (finger-picking) Smile
