For all of you who are fairly new to Jamie Cullum or who don't know too much about him, the albulm "Twenty-Something" is actually his third albulm so if you like this albulm check out his second albulm which is called "pointless nostalgic" it's fantastic!
You can also register on his forum which is www.pointlessnostalgic.com
his first albulm which he paid to record himself is very rare and goes for around £500 on ebay (i'm not sure how many dollars that it)
if anyone has anymore questions, dont hesitate to ask me, i'll be pleased to help!

Topping because Jamie appears on Jay Leno tonight on tv at 11:35 ET. Check rockontv.com for more of his appearances!

I actually heard about him from a commercial on vh1 during the I Love the 90's series. I made fun of the way he looked at first but his music is really great. Love how he rocks out on the piano. Reminds me of Joe Firstman in a way, except he's foreign and jazzy.

Checked out Renee Olstead on Launch. They didn't have an actual music vid but an EPK about her and her voice is just amazing. Certainly would not have thought she was 14, wow!

woah, i didn't even know there was a whole thread going on about Jamie! i've been lucky enough to see him perform both times he's been in LA (once in March at Room 5, this tiny jazz club in Hollywood, and once in June at the Roxy). my friend met/saw him play while she was in England, so that's how i heard of him. yeah, if you haven't already, everyone needs to go get his album (his other albums that are out in the UK are really great too. i think you can order them online). he's a fantastic singer, pianist and performer. geoff and sebastian (the bassist and drummer) are quite awesome as well, i think they need to get some props!

anyway, my computer busted, but when i get it back i'll try to find some pictures from when i saw him at Room 5 if anyone wants to see. he's like 100x better live, 'cause he's just so into his performance. (when i saw him at the roxy he played for 2 hours!!) it was great!

oh yes. sorry to tangent off. i just wanted to say how excited i was to read all you guys are getting into jamie. yay!

Hi, I Just wanted to tell you all about my Kenwood experience, now I can’t remember which songs were played in what order, but I’ll go on anyway! (Please excuse my poor writing skills)

I began my day slightly worried, because it was my best friend’s birthday bash at the same time as the concert, meaning I would have to miss it. I was contemplating whether or not I was doing the right thing, in going.

But I decided to go anyway!

I arrived at Kenwood House at about 5 o clock as I was meeting some other forumites at half past. Well half past came and went lol. I finally met them at around 7ish and we proceeded to our deckchairs for our picnic.

I was upset when I saw how far away the stage was, because it was all the way across the lake. I thought that this would affect Jamie’s performance a bit, because usually he makes the audience feel completely part of the show. Boy was I wrong, it in no way affected his performance and I felt as close to him as if the lake wasn’t there.

When 7:30 was upon us, I was delighted to find out that Lucie Silvas was supporting. I’d seen her before and thought she was great. Unfortunately she did not have the same effect on me the second time around. I still maintain my thoughts that she has a nice voice, but I felt she was lacking something. It was around this time that Drawds (Ed) turned up and I hadn’t even been with him 5 minutes when I realised that he was familiar to me.

You see I’m a huge Baddiel and Skinner fan and there is a certain episode I have seen about four times, it just so happens that Drawds made an appearance on this episode. I probably wouldn’t have remembered him except for the fact that I thought he was really good looking. (*dies of embarrassment*)

I was absolutely gutted that I didn’t get to see the way that Jamie came on stage. I was still making my way back to my seat, but from glimpses of a boat and the noise of the crowd I could tell it was great!

Throughout the entire show I could not even pick one fault, I was absolutely amazed from the start. He sang “All At Sea” beautifully, and I was laughing so hard at all the people singing along at the wrong times during “these are the days”. There were several times during the show when I thought Jamie was about to burst out laughing midsong! “High and Dry” has always been one of my favourite Jamie songs and I have to say he performed it faultlessly merging it with Singing in the rain! There were two songs that I hadn’t heard before. One of which was called “God only knows” – I loved this from the first note, it really was brilliant, as was a new song he played, which he wrote whilst in Sydney. It is currently untitled and doesn’t really have a beginning, middle or an end but its simplicity and honesty had me captivated.

During the show Jamie decided to get the audience to hold up their mobile phones, and sway them from side to side with the light from the screen lit up. I didn’t really see the effect of this until I turned around, and in the darkness saw a sea of lights. It looked absolutely amazing. In total Jamie played about an hour and 45 minutes of mind bogglingly good music.

After the show several forumites decided to go and try to meet Jamie. Anna, the absolute star that she is, worked her magic and found out where we would have to go! I didn’t think that I would be star struck, but once the harem or screaming girls had subsided, I found that I had lost the ability to use my tongue. Our encounter went a little something like this:

Me: *shoves ticket at Jamie* “Hi I’m All That Jazz from the forum.”
J: “Hi, Good to see you, what’s your real name”
Me: *Giggles* “Gemmy”
J: “do you spell that with a J?”
Me: “No, G – E – M – M –Y”
J: *kisses and hugs*, “thanks for your contribution to the forum” *spots badges pinned to my blazer* “ooh who have you got?” *seizes blazer in hands* “hmmm NERD, Tupac, Beatles, Madonna…..cool”
Me: “Could I get a picture with you?”
J: “yeah sure, take a seat”
Me: “Thank you sooo much mumble mumble”
J: “Thank you for coming out, it was good to meet you”
Me: “you too, bye”
J: “Bye”

And I had so many intelligent things to say in my head! (Jamie if you get to read this I’m am not stupid honestly and usually I do have the ability to speak in coherent sentences)

At this point I had to run as I was 40 minutes late for my parents, but even though they are no longer speaking to me because I was so late and even through her complaints al I could think about was the amount of charisma and personality that Jamie put into his performance.

One thing I definite: I certainly made the right choice in coming tonight, and this gig had without a doubt confirmed my beliefs that Jamie Cullum is a legend in the making!

I just started listening to Jamie Cullum and am really impressed. I think he is kind of like Norah Jones and Gavin DeGraw combined...maybe that is a weird thing to say, but it seems kind of right..

Of course! I love Jamie Cullum. "Twentysomething" is a great jazz-rock album. He actually just had a free concert in NYC but I wasn't able to go Frown
