Memtree- u should know this...David Ryan Harris is opening for Cullum! Now that would be the best show if I lived on the West Coast!

why is that I'm always so at getting on the bandwagon with the best artists? first marc broussard, now jamie...all that to say, I finally bought twentysomething today and I already adore it. The variety of covers are so much fun and he's just amazingly talented...
Tyler: I mean I've got cool fans. I've got fans that I'm a fan of. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [in response to where he gets his insight from] Tyler: You know, I couldn’t tell you. It’s hard to look at what it is that makes me, me, because I’m me and I’m busy being me so looking at what’s making me, me is a really odd, confusing room of mirrors.

Oh my GOODNESS. Last night...wow. I think it was perhaps the greatest show I've ever seen. Not only is Jamie incredible, but his band is frickin amazing. And they are so ENTERTAINING! I was dead tired, but was somehow still able to have a total blast. Gosh...I'm still in complete awe. Honestly, I was in the balcony, 8th row or so...and I think I enjoyed this show more than when I had 3rd row for Mayer. And I wasn't even a huge Jamie fan to begin with. I've known about him for quite a while, but never really had a chance to get into much of his stuff. I knew 3 or 4 songs going into the evening. But...wow. I couldn't believe how much energy he had!! And I sure hope they are somehow able to bring their own piano along to shows...because man, I would not let someone jump on top of and walk across MY grand piano!
Brandi Carlile opened. I saw her open for Marc Broussard last fall...and she's okay, but I'm not all that impressed. People REALLY need to stop covering "Hallelujah"! Especially girls.
I used to absolutely love "Hallelujah". Now I have to skip the track any time I listen to Buckley, because I can't stand the song anymore. Jamie's cover of "Lover, You Should've Come Over" is incredible, though. I fully approve of and support Jamie Cullum covering Jeff Buckley.
I agree; that cover is great. I was gonna see Jamie again when he comes to the 9:30 Club soon, but I wasn't motivated enough to get a ticket and it sold out. I'm not too bummed though because I wasn't quite as impressed with him as you are. That may have been due to the fact that I was just very cranky that night because on our way there we got reallyyyyy lost in South East DC and got pulled and had our car and our person searched and I happened to have a ziplock baggie of white pills with an "E" on them in my pocket...it was excedrin I swear! haha
Other stuff involving a toilet exploding and getting stood up happened too...it was just a bad night...
I'd like to see him again before I make a final decision about his live show.
