becca and I got the pleasure of seeing and meeting Julian Velard last nite in PA, and well we may just have fallin in love (well very very strong like!) with him and his music. Bec is probably better at the "he's like..." so I'll leave that to her when she gets home and I'll just supply the links...
With some serious consideration, I think he sounds like Everything our parents wanted for us, our favorite Saturday morning cartoons, Rock and Roll, Sweet and Sour soup.
Gilly, you were right the first time with the, "and well we may just have fallin in love with him and his music" part. He was GREAT!! I can't wait to see him again! As for what he sounds like, I told you that his playing style reminded me of Gavin 3 years ago, and he also has a Michael Buble vibe to him. That's a pretty fuckin awesome combination. Check him out!!!
I'm really ready to either a) get in a time machine and jump to friday when I get paid and can buy the cds and then back into it to jump forward till they're here or b) get in same said time machine and go back to last nite
yeah actuallly b) does sound like alot more fun
fingers crossed becca!!!
ps, don't forgot to talk to those brothers!

Gilly aka Thread Killer aka Starter of Dead Threads (that rhymes!)
But yes, Julian is awesome and so are the songs he just posted. I'm actually slightly bummed that he took my 2 favorite songs down, but the fact that he made these downloadable so we don't have to ghetto-ly steal them makes up for that.
JV put new songs on his myspace, and even more in his music player on his site...
I'm gonna take a cheating way and just post a bulletin I just made...
YOU can pre-order "the movies without you" now for it's September 26th release. Click below to check out his online store. It's only $7 and it'll be one of the best $7 bux you've ever spent (you can thank us later)...
"Jimmy Dean & Steve McQueen" and "Joni" are on his myspace
His website player also has "Lawfully Wedded Wife" "Little Demons" "A Dream" "You Wouldn't Wanna Be Me"
a lot has happened with our lil JV since this post has been updated.
He was signed to UK EMI last year and moved out of brooklyn to London the beginning of this year. His Album is out this fall (I think it's fall) and he's gearin' up for radio etc with some tours and a new single "Jimmy Dean and Steve McQueen" (that can be found on the EP *well the first version of the song*, if you can find the ep, it may still be on itunes)
anyway, with new singles, comes MUSIC VIDEOS!!!
I'm so excited, this is really happening, JV is really gettin' out there (even if it is on the other side of the pond)
