I'm trying to delete all of my picture post since they are cluttering up the anything you want part of the board and I was just going to keep the most recent post of pictures and add on to that from there, but it won't let me delete the posts, but last night it let me delete a whole post, but now it won't is anybody allowed to delete a whole post that was posted by you?

I think that if you are the first person to post in a topic AND people have replied after you, you are not able to delete your original post....just edit it. If you post in a topic and did not start the thread, you should be able to delete the post yourself. However, the only way to delete an entire thread is through the moderator. If you really want to delete your posts, you might want to send them a PM and see if you can work something out.

However, Sophie, I have to tell you, your old posts don't bother me at all......I think what you're trying to do is consolidate all of your pictures into one thread, but instead of worrying about deleting all of your old threads, you may just want to start posting them all from this point forward and not worry about the past. After all, old posts are the history of the boards and that is nice to see sometimes. And I don't really feel like (well, at least in the anything you want area) most things are clutter. It's not like we're eating into any one person's space or by posting one thread we're preventing someone else from posting another....does that make sense? After all, it is the ANYTHING YOU WANT thread....shouldn't you be able to post whatever you want? just a thought.

I guess my point was that if I were you, I wouldn't worry about it too much....and just from now on (if you want) post all of your pictures together. Hope that helps!

I completely agree - it's always fun to go back and see how we have all have changed and grown over the past couple years, and I don't see a need to go back and delete all the old posts and think it's better to leave them and just for 2008 and moving forward have the photos in one thread if you want to go that route Smile

Emily I understand completely what your saying. Thank's for saying my old posts don't bother you. You made a good point about the old posts are the history of the boards and that is nice to see sometimes. Also you made a good point about what you said about And I don't really feel like (well, at least in the anything you want area) most things are clutter. It's not like we're eating into any one person's space or by posting one thread we're preventing someone else from posting another. That's how I alway's thought about the anything you want it thread it's anything you want, so you should be able to post anything you want in it. I'm not going to worry about it. It did let me delete one full post of picture's, so that one post is gone, but I'm going to leave the rest of the post's of picture's from 2005 until now and just post all the picture's in one post. Thank's Alea and Emily.

I agree that your old threads don't need to be deleted. When I suggested posting in one thread, it's because I would go look at your old threads to see how much she grew. Since you always talked about her growing so fast.

Maybe the moderator can consolidate all your old threads? I know when I used to be moderator of another forum, I had the ability split threads (take a thread and make it two new threads) and to combine threads (so those of similar conversations were all together).

I can only imagine it would be a decent amount of work for the moderator to have to find all the threads and then put them together. I think it's fine just to leave them like they are. Ultimately, not my opinion though.

That would definely be too much work for a moderator.
