In the beginning I didn't think about David's dad being there with him, but now that I've been thinking about it....he really had an advantage. He always had help when the rest of the Idols had to do it on their own (with the exception of David Cook who stole the routine of a diff. band and barely gave them credit for it..). It's completely unfair and that shouldn't be allowed.

So. I am completely fed up with Idol.

The judges are being completely and utterly bias and it's sickening. This is not supposed to be a popularity contest, it's a SINGING contest.

I understand you can like a certain kind of music and you'd be partial to people who sing that genre, but if you're judging a contest that should not matter.

You cannot pick favorites if you are a judge. As a fan we have our favorites, we root for who we want to root for even if they suck. That's okay. But when you're a judge and have sway over viewers your opinion should be kept to yourself.

It is completely obvious that from day one all three judges were rooting for the David's to win. They criticize the other contestants and never the Davids. Even when David Archuleta DESTROYED and FORGOT LYRICS to a BEATLES song he wasn't bashed. When Jason sang a Dylan song BEAUTIFULLY and made Dylan look good, but forgot one line, he was SMASHED and was told to "pack your bags" by Simon.

Even if the David(s) songs were just okay they got a good review. When Jason, Syesha, Brooke...basically EVERYONE ELSE sang just an okay song, they were told that was nothing special, it's going to hurt you, go home...blah blah blah. It's UNFAIR.

Tonight it was exactly the same.

David Archuleta's third song sucked. It wasn't memorable whatsoever. His Chris Brown song was okay...it's was awkward. His first song...nothing special there either.

David Cook sucks as well. Okay okay, he's a rocker. All rockers sound exactly the same...so in that perspective he's good. He knows how to belt out a good rocker scream. He usually hides his awful/out of tune vocals with backup singers and loud music. He showed that wonderful talent tonight in all his songs. His second song was a mess.

Syesha was told basically two of her three songs weren't her. Lets see....she's a broadway/ballad type of singer. So what is the problem? Maybe it's because her first name isn't David..maybe...I'm just thinkin.

David Cook sings all rock songs.

David Archuleta sings all long, boring, ballads.

So...?? I don't get it. The Davids show no originality whatsoever (and when they do show originality they steal the version of the song from a different band and then take credit for it...then get caught and have to give credit and do a really shitty job at it.), yet they are never given a bad review even when they clearly SUCK.

Even though TMZ sucks and talks crap about Danny....they got it right on this one. It was obvious from the beginning the Davids were going to the end. It's obvious the rest of the Idols didn't stand a chance.

And it's obvious Jason was screwed out of the Idol title.

I respect your opinion...after all, AI is an opinion based show. However, just because who you thought should have won didn't win, does not mean that the show is biased. America votes, not the judges. The judges say it like it is...some weeks they like the Davids, some weeks they liked Jason, some weeks they liked others. It just depends on how they performed that week. The Davids have both been pretty consistant with their performances (hence why they are still in the competition) and maybe that is why it seems as though they are biased toward them. They judges told EVERY competitor tonight that they had an 'ok' second round but not spectacular...so I honestly don't see how they always give the Davids good reviews. I think the reason Jason was told to "pack your bags" last week is because he did not perform up to par with everyone else. If he had been older, less cute, and not as lovable I really do not think he would have stuck around as long as he did. He has a nice voice but in my opinion he got to be predictable every week and did not raise the bar on his songs each week.
Ultimately, the vote is up to America, not the judges...so it doesn't really matter what they think anyways. And as much as this is a singing contest, the sad fact is that it is just as much a popularity contest. Without the people behind them for support, their career will ultimately fail due to lack of sales.
Personally, I like David Cook. And he never denied using another version of the song. Ultimately, EVERYONE is doing a cover of another person's song. Just because they aren't covering the original doesn't mean they are 'stealing'. If that is the case, everyone that covers a song is 'stealing'.
I hope David Cook wins. I think he deserves it. And I don't think that all rockers sound the same. And if he clearly 'sucks' then why is he still in the competition?

i thought david cook was really good tonight, i loved 'dont wanna miss a thing' and i hope he wins it! i think syesha will go home tomorrow..

I'm not really a regular viewer of the show, but I would have to agree that David Cook should win...I mean, I see bits and pieces of the show, but in my opinion, his version of "Always Be My Baby" has to be one of the best performances on that show yet! I love it more than the original! And although I do think that a lot of rockers do sound kind of alike (alas Nickelback and Daughtry...we actually talked about Nickelback in my TCOM class today...it was hilarious hearing all of the audio production kids groaning-haha!) I think he has a different sound.

...although aren't Idol's ratings really down? That is what I keep hearing...so I might expect a shocker tomorrow night

all i can say is that the top 3 is extremely talented and regardless of who gets voted off and who wins they will most likely all be successful

based on tonights performances, David Cook kicked everyone's booties (IMO)

When it comes down to it, the show isn't biased - the judges are. I get it. You can like someone, but don't let it affect your reviews.

Yes, the Davids have (usually) had consistant performances - but they weren't "blow me away" performances...they were okay, typical of a good singer.

The judges like the Davids every week, even when they do bad. For Example, Randy would say something like this: "Yo check it out dawg, that was aiight for me. But ya know I love ya David ___. You rock!"

Now if Jason (I'm only using Jason because he made it so far in the competition) would've sung an "aiight" song, it would've been a different story. They would've gave him awful reviews.

No, I don't think they suck entirely. I was referring to them singing songs and doing a bad job. They do sing well, that's why they got into the competition.

Am I the only one who notices it? Even if you are a fan of one of the Davids....

The American Idol people won't let Danny come back for the finale because they "ran out of room." Even if there's a better reason, I think it's a crappy thing to do because those are his friends. :/

I heard Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" for the first time on the radio the other day and was like, "Wait is that Jason Castro??" Obviously it wasn't, but it made me think they somewhat sound alike. Especially with this song.

I'm glad David Cook won, but I just hope he goes somewhere with his career because he is really talented.

i think david cook will do good..i was reading some website today and his cd is set to come out in the fall..can't wait to get it!
