I did not know about this..apparently its big news in europe since it happened in italy and the victim is from the uk. A 20 year american student from seattle, amanda knox, is being held right now in a jail in italy in connection to her roommates murder. she came back to her house and found her roommate dead. the case against her, according to the cbs story, seems very weak and is mostly police theory. Italy is different the US, they can keep people in jail for up to a year with no charges. dont know if any one else has heard about this.

Yeah, in my business law class we learned the difference between american courts and the courts overseas and here its innocent until proven guilty but over there its guilty until proven innocent. and in their courts they also allow hearsay, which we don't allow...

so needless to say, i wouldn't want to be in trouble overseas! i feel bad for that girl
