A couple of you had posted that you wanted to see pictures of our new apartment. We finally got everything in place, so I snapped a few pictues tonight to show you all! I love it so far. We have plenty of space for just the two of us, and it is certainly nice to have our own rooms to go to (which is what we are used to back home). Our 3 best boy friends are getting an identical apartment right across the hall. They are moving in next week and I can't wait for them to get here!

Kitchen blinds. I hung them all by myself...and it was hell...but I'm so proud that they aren't falling down! haha!
Aww, wow it looks great! It's so cute and homey. I bet it'll look even greater with all your artwork on display. :] You guys did a great job. Must feel nice having a place of your own! ;]

Rent is right under $700 a month. That doesn't include electricity or cable/internet, which is an additional $100 or so a month. Around here, that is a great price for an apartment this size. Our complex is a family run complex, so they try to keep the prices low for the college kids. Not too many people have heard about this complex, so I feel really lucky that my friend found it.
Think of me this year when I am living in my tiny little 12 x 12 dorm with no bathroom haha...
Aww...yea...dorms suck. I'm so glad to be out of them this year. But your dorm is bigger than either of the 2 rooms we ever had! Tech's dorms are tiny!!
We are only about a 10 minute walk away from campus, so it's not too bad. But there are 2 bus stops on either side of our building that take us to campus, so that will be really convenient.
Your guy's apartment looks so nice! And that is a very good price for that apartment. Haha, I'm envious I want to live in an apartment, but I have to wait a semester or two, but hopefully by summer I will live in one.
Anyway your guy's set-up, with the both of you across the hall from three guy friends, reminds me of Friends, especially the time when Ross didn't have an apartment and lived with Joey and Chandler for awhile.

It is very Friends-esque. These guys really are just like us, except they are boys. And they are down for Friends and OC and game nights, which is so much fun! I feel really lucky to have met these guys within my first week of school my freshman year. They have definitely been a great support group/family while we have been up at school.
also very friends-esque that when we were moving in we had to carry a really heavy couch up a set of stairs that turned a corner....so everyone was going "PIVET! PIVET!!!!! PIVET!"

That was my first thought - "where is their artwork covering the walls"!!!
Does the kitchen door go out to your balcony? I saw one of you guys said you had to carry the couch up stairs, so I assumed you weren't on the first floor. I have never seen a kitchen door leading to the outside in an apartment though. I love your bedspreads!!

The kitchen door does lead to the porch (which runs from our kitchen all the way to the boys kitchen...so we share that area). That will be the entrance we usually use, because we park our cars in the back. However, we also have a front entrance in the family room. That is how we had to take the couch up the stairs because the front stairs are wider. There is a really narrow corner in the kitchen, and it would have been impossible to get around it with that big couch. So we had to walk it all the way to the front of the building to get it to those stairs. I think that when we decide to move out we will either sell it and have someone else move it out, or we'll break it into little pieces and trash it. It was such a pain to get up there!
I'm glad you all like the apartment. I hope some of you all will have a chance to stop in a see it (maybe there will be a blacksburg/southern va concert you will want to see...who knows)
Aw it's so cute! I love it! Congrats guys. You should post up pictures when you hang up some art work. Hahah I would have no clue how to put up blinds either. So, high fives to you! Hah
