Wow it's gone national? Basically, we have a building/wing of a building that houses the multicultural center. I forget what it's called but the name of the center is distinctively African. They found a noose on a tree outside of it last Friday afternoon. It was weird cuz I definitely passed that tree that day. Didn't see a thing.

The problem with this case is that maintainence crews destroyed the noose as soon as they took it down. There also aren't any cameras pointing in that area so it's hard to id suspects.

It's definitely a big deal on campus right now. No one knows why it started. There hasn't been any huge conflicts on campus so far. Our president is working overtime on this thing right now.

DC folks....I'll be in DC on October 28th for the Marine Corp marathon. It starts at 8 am...ugh...way too early...especially since that means I'll have to leave my house around 5 am...and I had wanted to go see Stephen Kellogg and the 6ers the night before.

Just thought I'd let ya'll know

how long do you think that would last Amy? I'm not sure if I'll be home or not, but I was thinking it would be fun if one time us DCers got together to go to the new wax museum. It's supposed to open 10/1 and I think the month is enough time for the "novelty" to wear off of everyone going...

i really have no idea how long it will last....it's 26 and some miles....so however long that takes. I guess average around around 5-7 hours? Most people have to qualify for the marathon, but an exception was made for 100 VT students in order to raise money for the HOkie Spirit Memorial....so 2 of our friends are running and we're going to watch....but so far, I think the farthest they've run is like 10 miles :/ So I have no clue how long it will really take them to finish!

Mike ran about 15 miles the other day and it took him about 3 hours....so my guess is it will take him 5 or so hours to finish. But, I'm going to be on driving duty pretty much as soon as they are done because I'm sure they are going to want to just pass out and get home. So, I don't really know if we will be able do anything afterwards or not. I can probably let you know closer to the day though.

Why don't all of you come up the night before? that way the runners can get a good night's sleep and you girls will be able to see the sixer's. And do you have to stay for the entire race? Because if you don't have to watch the entire race, you'll have plenty of time to hang around DC.

The Sixers are actually in Charlottesville...which is like 30 minutes from my hometown, so we would have to stay here the night if we wanted to see them. I'm not really sure how all the details of the race work...I think we kind of follow them as they run and watch them at a few stops. I need to figure out more before the race b/c I really don't know what we are suppose to do. But, I'll def. let ya'll know what our plans are so we might be able to see you guys if it's possible!

Congrats Sophie...I see both VT and Maryland won their games today!

yayy. We've lost our last two games so beating #10 is awesome. MD doesn't play VA tech this year right?
