Lyrics that I found are for Milkcow Blues Boogie not just Milk Cow Blues.....
Well, I woke up this morning, And I looked out the door. I can tell that old milk cow By the way she lowed. Hold it fellows, that don't move me. Let's get real, real gone for a change. Well, I woke up this morning And I looked out the door I can tell that that old milk cow I can tell the way she lowed. Well, if you've seen my milk cow, Please ride her on home. I ain't had no milk or butter Since that cow's been gone. Well, I tried to treat you right, Day by day. Get out your little prayer book Get down on your knees and pray. For you're gonna need, You're gonna need your loving daddy's help someday. Well, then you're gonna be sorry For treating me this way. Well, believe me, don't that sun look good going down? Well, believe me, don't that sun look good going down? Well, don't that old moon look lonesome When your baby's not around. Well, I tried everything to get along with you. I'm gonna tell you what I'm going do. I'm gonna quit my crying, I'm gonna leave you alone. If you don't believe I'm leaving, you can count the days I'm gone. I'm gonna leave. You're gonna need your loving daddy's help someday. Well, you're gonna be sorry You treated me this way. the only sounds i can find are willie nelson .... not elvis |

elvis recorded in the whereabouts of 750ish songs in his career ('53-'77), so the songs you'll find in your hits collections at home represent only a couple of his tracks--and believe me, it isn't remotely his best work.
milk cow blues boogie was a sun records record cut in '54. it's very country. it is also the first time i believe elvis 'spoke' on a record. he says--"hold it fellas, that don't move me. let's get real, real goin' for a change." Download elvis didn't become world famous until '56 when he moved to rca and got on the tv shows of the dorsey bros, milton berle, ed sullivan, etc... most of what you see on your home collections is mostly from '56. and of course the music snobs hate everything past sun records and early rca because elvis took on more vocally challenging material like ballads (which was where his heart really was--and a lot of gospel). perhaps you have a christmas collection too. the latest songs the average person has heard are suspicious minds ('69) and burning love ('72). believe me--that's just the tip of the iceberg. he gave over 1000 sold-out live performances as well. and speaking of willie nelson--he recorded always on my mind in '82. the song was originally written for elvis in '72 (right at the time of his breakup from priscilla, as were most of his songs that year) and brenda lee and elvis presley recorded it on the same day within 30 minutes from each other, though elvis had a hit out of it. personally i'm fonder of elvis' version than willie's, but that is definite bias. after the butchering the last actor gave to elvis' singing in the studio (thank god for them using actual footage and singing in the telepic, or i wouldn't have gotten through it), i'm fairly certain tyler will do better. i hope he does a decent job on milk cow--joaquin did an impressive job on the cash songs. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Elvis' Babe, "Thank you very much. Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the big, freaky International Hotel. Those little weirdo dolls on the walls. And those little funky angels on the ceiling. Uh, this is my first live appearance in 9 years. H-uhh! Thank you. I've appeared dead a few times, but this is my first live appearance. Before the evening is up, I will have made a complete and total fool of myself, and I hope you get a kick out of watching it." --EP |
