Matt Dallas' upcoming film, Babysitter WantedBig Screen Entertainment Group (BSEG) recently announced that Lionsgate Films will be responsible for the domestic distribution of the upcoming horror/thriller, Babysitter Wanted. The film features Matt Dallas, star of the ABC Family hit, Kyle XY, and Sarah Thompson, known for her roles on 7th Heaven and Angel.

"We are thrilled to be working with Lionsgate, one of the largest and most successful film studios in the industry. We always felt that they were the perfect home for Babysitter," BSEG CEO Kimberly Kates said.

David Zappone, president of BSEG added, "Babysitter is geared to be a franchise film and Lionsgate has had tremendous success with past endeavors in this area."

International distribution of the film will be handled by Imagination Worldwide.

Babysitter Wanted follows the story of Angie (Thompson), a young college student whose babysitting job turns into a nightmare when she is terrorized by a crazed man from the campus. She enlists the help of her schoolmate, Rick (Matt Dallas) and the town sheriff (Bill Moseley), but since both are still miles away, Angie must find a way to keep the dangerous man at bay while keeping herself and the child she is caring for alive.

Other cast members include Kristen Dalton (The Departed), Monty Bane (Sleepwalkers) and Bruce Thomas, who stars alongside Matt Dallas on Kyle XY.

The film, which is directed by Jonas Barnes and Michael Manasseri, is still awaiting release, but has already received stellar reviews from several major film critics, one of which is the largest horror website in the country, www.bloody-disgusting.com.
The website compared the film to other productions with a similar concept, including When a Stranger Calls and Black Christmas, saying that Babysitter Wanted is “probably the best.”

"The idea is fantastic... The FX work is very well done and some of the violence is done in a very CHAINSAW-esque way,” the website said. "Another positive note is that Babysitter's production value was astounding; the film looked and felt like a high budget indie horror film, quite possibly theatrical worthy.”

The film is the second horror/thriller production for Dallas, with the first being the 2005 film, Way of the Vampire. The Kyle XY star's other film credits include Living the Dream, Sugar Shank and The Indian.

LOL I thought the same thing - I thought wow thats not smart of someone to advertise they need a babysitter over the internet! LOL I had a moment.

Haha, Michelle you amuse me. I don't know if I'll watch it, because the star of Kyle XY annoys me, he doesn't show emotions...

Kyle isn't suppose to really show many emotions - mostly because of what/who he is in the story... esp since the show is based off the plot from season 1 "A family takes in a formerly institutionalized teen savant (Dallas) who is missing standard human behaviors such as anger, joy and love." Guess that make Matt a pretty good actor then (?)

lol that's okay you don't have to like Kyle XY - his charector in this movie isn't Kyle from Kyle XY...

I wasn't just basing it off Kyle XY, my family watches Entourage and I'm pretty sure he was on one episode (was he?)... As of right I'm not really a fan of his acting, but that could be subjected to change I guess.

he was - that's understandable - it could i've heard nothing but good things about his new movie The Indian - ....
