As many of you have heard, Tyler's lovely Gibson SJ-200 is no longer in use. I believe it was right before TRL that the neck broke? Steel strings tend to expand/shrink due to drastic temperature changes, increasing tension on the guitar's neck. That can either lead to snapping or warping the neck. That is why loosening strings before traveling (especially by plane) is a very good idea. I don't know the specifics as to what happened to Tyler's guitar/why it happened, but it is a tragedy, nonetheless.
I loved Tyler's Gibson. Clearly, not as much as Tyler did...but as much as a fan can love a musician's instrument.
The horror... it's like loosing a pet.. .I feel for you Tyler... Im sure it's un-replacable... But time will heal all wounds.. and you'll find a new Mr. Gibson to be on stage with!
Tyler: I mean I've got cool fans. I've got fans that I'm a fan of. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [in response to where he gets his insight from] Tyler: You know, I couldn’t tell you. It’s hard to look at what it is that makes me, me, because I’m me and I’m busy being me so looking at what’s making me, me is a really odd, confusing room of mirrors.
